De Gracia Medina Stars in “Water in a Lifecycle of a Mine" Video

May 17, 2024

Xenia De Gracia Medina, UA SRC Trainee in the Department of Environmental Sciences, is being mentored by Dr. Jon Chorover, Dr. Rob Root, and Dr. Bo Guo. She is studying the contaminant transport of arsenic associated with weathering of mine tailings at historical mines in the western United States.

De Gracia Medina is featured in recent video released by the School of Mining and Mineral Resources titled "Water in a lifecycle of a mine". The video explores how mines use and manage water in Arizona. It helps to understand the big picture of the importance of minerals and mining, the importance of water in the mining process, and the ways scientists manage challenges related to water and mining.

This was a great effort by Xenia De Gracia Medina and all the faculty involved! Check it out!
